Maxima is MISFIRING!!

1999 Maxima GXE, 105K...just purchaced....l

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for putting this site together and those of you that responded to the questions...it has been a tremendous help for me. Now here is my problem....

Here is what i have done so far.....
1. Changed the plugs - NGK Plat
2. Changed the oil, oil filter, coolant, air filter, and cleaned the throttle body.

One week after the tune-up the car is misfires slightly when idling in "D". It does not misfire while driving, but you can tell all the power is not there.

I don't have a catalytic converter (it was stolen), just a straight pipe for now. So the O2 sensors in front of and behind the cat are missing. I don't think that is causing the problem.

I keep reading about the coil packs going bad, but this did not start until I did the tune-up. How do i test the coil packs to see if one is going or is bad??

I am planning on changing the fuel filter but i don't believe it is the culprit. Had the car for 3 weeks now. Any suggestions?

'99s are known for bad coils. Pull the codes and see which cylinders are misfiring, then swap the coils with the ones that are running fine, then pull the codes again. That'll give you an idea.

Alright, Thanks for the advice. What is the firing order? I have 3 up front and 3 toward the back(close the firewall). Is it 1,3,5 up front and 2,4,6 in the back? Or the opposite?
