what could this be?

i hear stretching noise coming from the back when i go over an uneven road or in turns, a month ago i took my rear seats out the first time i heard the noise and tighten this big metal plate and than the noise stopped. 3 days ago i put on 18s and 2 days ago i hear this stretchin noise comin from the rear like the trunk or something again and wonder what it could be?

on a 99 nissan maxima gle

there are NO STRUTS in the back, its not a camry!

maxaims have rear shocks, and check youre bushings

I had a similar noise and I tracked it down to a really, really inconvenient spot in the trunk. If you PM me and remind me, I will try to take pics.
