New Engine????

Ok Im looking to buy a used engine and rebuild it w/ better cams, pistons, and all other internial parts. I have looked at quite a few places, but cant seem to find any for our engine. Does anyone know where to get these?

Also I thought about the 3.5L swap but Im not sure the bennifets out weigh cost

a 96 3.0 makes around 190 horsepower, a 3.5 from an 04+ makes about 265. why would you want to build an engine to have same power that you can have off the bat? i know it must be tuned with a 3.0's computer but still. then you can put on a cold air intake, headers, full exhaust and then you are making somewhere near 300 horsepower.

I want a turbo,
can you turbo the 3.5, thats the only reason I was gonna rebuild the 3.0 then put on a turbo, if you can put a turbo on the 3.5 then yes that would be beter

but most people that are turboed are running on stock vq30 internals.... so why build something up for turbo, if stock can handle turbo already, unless you honestly aimming for record breaking stuff that gets you faster then the fasted which i think is 11's.

If you want more power than just do a 3.5 swap and super it. It costs a lot more but your already talking about rebuilding an engine and turboing it so I dunno just a suggestion..

I would probably take a 3.5 over a turbo 3.0. Any turbo setup is much more expensive then a 3.5 swap no matter how cheap you get the parts (we are talking in reasonable price still). A 3.5 swap is also more reliable. Now turbo 3.5 ....... that just makes me drool.

Sigh ... another RWD question. I should just knock every engine swap question out in one post
RE26DETT ... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
SR20DET ..... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
VG30DETT (300ZX) NO!!!! (Or is it the VE ... either way I don't care lol)
VQ35DE from G35 or 350z NO!!!
KA24DE ...... NO!!!!!!!!! (I would like to meet the psycho who first asks if this can be done)

The only swaps that I have ever heard are the DEK (2000-2001 Maxima and I30) and 3.5 (2002+ Maxima, I35, Altima). The engines listed above are for RWD applications and will not fit or mount in the bay because the engine would have to be turned 90 degrees which in turn would not allow any mounting points to line up. Just drop the ideas.

Now there is one person who threw the turbos from the 300ZX in with battery relocation. The thread shouldn't be but a page or two back.

overshot that just a little too far. If memory serves the most powerful 3.5 4th gen is putting around 272hp to the ground. and I believe he has functional VTC,one hell of a good tune, and I think tomei cams, or some cams for the 3.5.

3.5 with intake/exhaust/headers/half decent tune would probably land your around 235hp ish maybe more maybe less.
