Wheel Spacers...

ok guys well I got some 15MM H&R spacers for the rear... I dont know what he was thinking but a veteran mechanic had informed me that 16mm was close to an inch...for some odd reason I didnt give it too much thought ...also reading peoples posts about wheels spacers and what seems pretty common is about 15mm and 20mm... so I just went ahead and bought some 15mm's .... I have a 42mm offset rim .... so with the spacer ill have a 27 offset in the back.... the 15mm's arent nearly as thick as I thought theyd be and looking at the rims on my car it just doesnt look like it would push it out that much.... IS THIS AN OPTICAL ILLUSION?... I dont know If i need to go wider or not... I just want the rim to sit close to flush on the rear .. what are peoples offsets ??

35mm offset for me and they sit pretty much flush. 27mm offset will be sticking out of the fender.

Look in my signature. I believe my wheels are a 40mm offset.

dude using spacer without extended wheel studs is an accident waiting to happen... i used some 5mm spacer on my 97 and i made sure i used longer wheel studs, i dont care what anyone says about using stock studs.

i bent one of my 18" wheels on a huge pot hole, i have extended wheel studs and nothing broke, or came apart. so you're statement is false.

put it this way...let's say you have ur car is in the working bay in a shop that i work at...

as soon as they spot a spacer- they're gonna drop the project right away. Basically they dont wanna have to tell you that they told you so.

That's cool that you run ur car on spacers and ****...but is the added risk worth the "flush" look?

i wouldnt go so far as to say that someone's retarded...personally i wouldnt want the liability of a customer's wheels falling off.
