need help, fuel pump control module

OK, i have a problem. I am throwing a code P1220. I found out the the code means the fuel pump control module is the problem; the thing is that I've never heard of a control module for a fuel pump other than the ecu. I've searched the fsm but could not find any seperate module or computer that is specifically for the fuel pump. If anyone can help...HELP.

Thanks in advance.

are you suffering any problems, or is the car running fine, just with a CEL? If the car is still running fine, I'd be tempted to reset the ECU and see if it comes back.

ABS Control Module

I am also having a control module problem ('95), but it's with my ABS. It's pulling 0.1 amps, which I don't think is normal. Because of this it is wearing down my charging & electrical system and I need to have it release the extra power it's pulling back into the system. Anybody with experience on brake control module fuses got a suggestion???

I tried clearing the code many times, but everytime it comes back within minutes and usually throws a double code (repeat). I use the scan tool by the way. I have replaced the stock ecu with another one just to see if it was the ecu acting up, but within minutes, the codes popped up. Could this possibly be because of the alt or battery because at night when the lights are on, when i hit the brakes - the lights dim a little.

2 year BUMP..

Yesterday I went to my cousin shop and pulled a code for a o2 sensor which I replaced and haven't come back with a code so I'm good on that one...

I pulled code p1220 FPCM (Fuel Pump Control Module). I have no problems with the car fuel wise no start up issues nothing at all. I didn't have this code before wondering where to look or what I have to fix? Fuel Pump maybe? I even called a Nissan they said it's wierd because my car doesn't have that. 98 SE 5spd 00vi and header y pipe combo, VAFC 2 are the mods I have. I have to get inspected so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I cleared all the codes this code popped up while I was doing the driving patterns to get the ECU ready. Cleared 2 times and code keeps comming back

The only years to have a P1220 code (according to the FSM) are 96 and 97. Possible he's got a different year ECU in there, but a '98 ECU shouldn't be throwing a P1220 at all.

I completely forgot to mention that...I did do a 5 spd swap and changed the ecu...not sure what the donor car was that the ecu came from...I'm assuming it's a 97, so it's probably throwing the code because it's not there ...grreeattt I'll probably pick up a 98 ECU this week and test it out. Thanks a million

Hey bro I'm new to Maxima org. I just recently did a 5 spd tranny swapp on my 98 GXE. We swapped the ECU as well. I'm curious to see if you were ever able to get rid of your CEL for the p1220 code? Is there something that you can rob from the donor car to keep the light out?

You'd need a functional FPCM and associated wiring. Easier, quicker, and most likely cheaper to just get the correct year 5MT ECU.

maybe not. Put alot of time into routing the harness. There aren't any extra wires from the 97 ECU either. We suspect the fuel pump may be weak but I don't want to replace it and not have the light go out either.

Maybe not what?

The fuel pump being 'weak' don't cause the FPCM code to be thrown, that's because you have the wrong year ECU in place.

What do you mean extra wires?

It may not be cheaper time wise to use another ECU. I was hoping not to have to tear one back out and put another back in. I know that it's a different year ECU. The car itself is a 98 but only a 97 harness matched up with everything. Disregard the extra wires part.
