My roommate played a trick on my Maxima....
Grrrrr....
So I go to drive my Max today. I haven't in a few weeks because I'm loving the roadster weather. I have shaved my rear door handles among other smoothing work. I never have people in the rear seat, so it never mattered. Anyway, the poppers won't pop them open... so I try to open them from inside. No joy.
If it was one door, I might have thought the mech was bad inside the door... but both it had to be child locks. The only person who could have... suckass roomie. I confronted him and he cracked up. The knuckle dragger though it was hilarious.
So, he'll get his. No worries there. But what to do about the child locks? Any ideas that don't involve the jaws of life?

So wait, you cant open it from the outside because there are no handles(you shaved them), and the inside is child locked?
Well, Id take it to somewhere, like a mechanic(not at the dealer) or something, and see if the can get passed the child lock.
Thats not a very nice room mate...
Wait, when on the inside of the car, is there a slot btween the door and the jam that is near the shild lock? If so, try a skewer of something thin yet decently strong.

What about a slim jim? Something like when you lock your keys in your car and the towing guy comes to let you in. I don't know if that would work on the rears but it might be worth a try.
Good luck.
Something less serious is needed for your roomie.... maybe drian all the oil from his car and let him drive around for a little while. See how funny that would be!

try taking off the trim around the interior handle...see if you can stick a hanger inside the panel and get at where the exterior handle use to be.
If all else fails...take it to a shop...and make your roomie pay for it.
Then shoot him.

wait until winter, I mean a 10-15 degree night colder if possible. Wrap the car in shrink wrap (shipping stuff), but before you do each layer, put some water in between the two layers, do it again and again and again, in the morning he'll come out to a car with a 4"-6" layer off ice on it.

your roomie is a *****.... try the several ideas above. if all else fail....
your gonna have to take of the panel which is not easy iwhtout opening the door.. which will prolly rip of the tabs screws and other items..
open door..
then make roomie check junkyards or buy the door panel. for you...
or tell him to deal with it... and figure it out.. and if he doesnt.. tell him your gonna fix it and take it to small claims court..

That sucks man, if you can, i would take off the panels as kcryan said, and see if anything can be done. and if that's no good, i'd go to a body shop. That was wrong what he did though. Why don't you replace his oil with kerosine, then shortly after he starts it, yell "SURPRISE!" ?

If it's gonna cost you an arm and a leg to fix thats so messed up. I'd recommend to accidently forget that you left scissors/knife on his bed one day. And on top of that put popcorn kernels in his engine through the oil cap(like in that one movie dirty work) and see how that goes. But in all reality he definately needs to get socked up.

does he have a car? wait till he goes on vacation or leaves his car unattended for a few days and shave his plate stickers off, your friendly neighbourhood tow truck will handle the rest

Wow your nice, if someone did that to my car I wouldnt have hesitated to kick the **** out of him. But if you cant pop the doors open yourself, than get an estimate for the repair and make him pay for it. I doubt he'll laugh when he sees the price of his "joke"
