cleaning iacv/intake

Looking at the intake where iacv is attached to.

Question: Is it supposed to be a passage/hole where the red arrow is? If it is, then mine is completely clogged up and it is rock solid. How do i go about clearing the crust thats in there besides removing the tube. I've tried using a stake(that green thing) with no luck.

I'm trying to get rid of code 0302. Thanks in advance for any suggestion/help.

There is supposed to be a passage for exhaust gases to flow back into the engine..... You have LOTS of carbon build-up in that tube.

You have to remove the upper plenum and clean that. Thats the EGR guide tube and gets clogged up after a long time.

Thats the EGR guide tube. That does not just "come off". Its connected down below to the EGR system. Again the easiest way is take off the manifold Youll be able to clean the entire guide tube that way !!!

Damn I took off the IACV to clean and wasn't able to get to the egr guide tube ... I poked around inside the IACV and couldn't find the hole.. but now thanks to the pic, I will re attempt this weeekend without taking off the Intake Manifold to get to it... hopefully that will get rid of the 0302.. if it does, I say we should create a sticky for it... or add it in the how to resolve code 0302 in the exisiting ecu code sticky..

Also, anyone who is attempting this should take pics as well, the more pics, the easier it will be for others in the futur with this problem...
