? to BIXENON HID KIT owners

I have purchased a 6000k Bixenon kit for my 96 max. I previously had a McCulloch 7000k kit with low beam only installed on my max. The installation was simple plug an play with only plugging in 3 plugs and installing light and it was fine.

My question is are the bixenonm kit more difficult to install? Do I have to do something to else, i'm lost. Thanks for any help on this.

From what I've read, it's plug and play.
I don't own a bi-xenon system, so I might be wrong...

Its just two extra ballasts. Besides finding a spot to mount them, you just plug the connections in. Just make sure you plug the high beams in the right one, trial and error. You can tell the difference between hi and low beams. Its an easy install, where did you buy your kit?

Thanks for the good info. I purchased from the GD section the Helios ones from maximabest.

I have also heard that it is good to upgrade the fuse to a 20 amp. Is this true?

Are you talking about the fuse located in the main block just beside your left leg under the steering wheel?
If so, I don't think that I would upgrade that fuse. Only one reason really, the wire is designed to work with a lesser fuse. If you move up to a stronger fuse, and have an electrical problem, you could end up damaging all the wires (read melting em), but your fuse would still look good. I don't like messing with that part of the car.

But, ask maximabest and see what he says....He's the expert on that field.

I think there is a lot of confusion in this thread so let me try and clear it up for you all.

MOST bi-xenon kits that are on here, I own a set as well, are projectors, because they were retro-fitted. The way that the bi-xenon projector works is as follows. There is a shield that basically blocks part of the light, thus giving it a cut-off, on low beams. The shield is attached to a motor/solenoid which lifts up when you turn on the high beams.

In order for this plug and play kit to be bi-xenon, it would have to have another filament in the bulb which would light up. The problem with this is, your existing housing was designed for halogen bulbs and not xenon, thus the lighting while brighter/improved would actually create glare for on coming traffic.

They're talking about the sliding Bi-xenon kit that is sold by Maximabest in the group deal section. I have the same kit in 6000k. I love it, and I'm sure you will as well. It has nothing to do with projectors.

Nope not talkin' about projectors, I'm talkin' about the kit from the GD section like said above.

Thanks for all help on this seems to be pretty easy. I'm not worried about glare other people never complained to me about glare never got lights from oncoming passers by flashed. So I don't care about the so called glare problem.

Why not do some research rather than take this stance? I guess you would rather contribute to the BS already done to cars.

I just installed the hi/lo hid the other day. The 6000k is amazing, at 1st they were pure white but then they color shifted some to a super white with a hint of blue.

I was having trouble getting the high beam to work and my interior high beam light was on, but I did something with the wires and fuses and think i got it fixed.
