Right now I have the SE foglights in my '96 GLE. I take it these won't work when I get a '97/'99 front bumper cover, correct? Well, if I need to replace the foglights, I am hoping I at least won't have to change the wiring and steering colum stalk, is this true? Lastly, for those of you who have done this conversion, where are the absolute best prices for :
'97/'99 front bumper cover, grill, headlights, clearance ligts and Stillen front spoiler?
I would really appreciate any help/input. Thanks everyone!

Bumper Cover - about 150
Grille - 70
Pair of 97-99 Headlights - 200-220
Clearance Lights - 30-40
Don't have lip, but 240 from summit racing
Check out carlamps.com, they have a lot of what you are looking for, those prices are uninstalled and unpainted

you will need different fogs for the conversion....
the wiring and stalk stay the same..
you can buy either aftermarket parts (cheapest way) or nissan parts..
for the headlights i'd go aftermarket because they look clearer.. i picked mine up for 167.00 a set.
as for the grill you can get a trendz (see my sig) or a nissan one... look for a used one online.
the clearence lights are about 30.00 for the aftermarket ones. again you can find the nissan ones for about that price used online..
i also bought the bumper reinforcement when i did my conversion.
for the lip you will have to look around for a nice deal.
paint can be $$$ unless you know someone....

its the piece behind the bumper that takes a hit if you were in a accident. it is directly behind the bumper..i think they are different because of the different bumper shapes.
there is also a styroform piece behind the bumper to soften a hit if someone backed into you parking their car..

There was some discussion here a while back about 5mph crash tests. IIRC, the '95 &'96 had pretty extensive damage, like around $1500 but the '97-'99 had hardly any. Obviously Nissan must have improved/redesigned the bumper reinforcement.

Thats sounds accurate, while i had my 95 bumper on i had a wreck that my car (i was not driving) hit the car in front of it off a stoplight at about 5 mph full on brakes, was a third car light runnners fault, but it didnt look like hardly any damage, but it did cost a good $1500 to fix

well it sounds like you got most of the info from Redmax and Wicked but i'll tell you what i did.
Head lights and Courners: $0 (not a must)
Trenz grill: $170
Bumper Cover: $130 + 30 shipping
Stillen front lip: $170
Paint for lip and cover: $160
and thats it.
I also did all the labor myself other than painting, and sold my stock bumper for $80 so that helped some.
as far as the crash bar, i didn't get one. I got into an accident which made me do the change anyway and there wasn't much damage other than cosmetics so i don't think theres a real dif. hope this helps

Thanks a lot guys, you were very helpful

[B]well it sounds like you got most of the info from Redmax and Wicked but i'll tell you what i did.

**** You're right, they were very helpful but, yes, I do appreciate your imput as well pio.

Head lights and Courners: $0 (not a must)

**** You're right, they are not but I love the clear glass/prism look. Do you guys feel that carlamps.com is an o.k. place to buy?

Trenz grill: $170

**** Yeah - I'm not too into the chrome/Ford truck look so I think I'll stick with a body color factory grill. Maybe add some metal grill material behind it and paint the Nissan logo body color like I have now.

Bumper Cover: $130 + 30 shipping

**** That's great! But where? RedMax said $150 but didn't mention where. Courtesy Nissan? Local dealer?

Stillen front lip: $170

**** Cool! Not bad, where pio.?

Paint for lip and cover: $160
and thats it.
I also did all the labor myself other than painting,

**** Right, easy to do (except that one upper passenger side bolt where the cover meets the car! I have taken mine off a few times now to get painted.

and sold my stock bumper for $80 so that helped some.

**** Yeah, that's true. Good idea.

as far as the crash bar, i didn't get one. I got into an accident which made me do the change anyway and there wasn't much damage other than cosmetics so i don't think theres a real dif. hope this helps

**** It really did! Thanks so much. If you could just get me the places where you purchased...

O.k., wicked, red, I am still a little confused on this crash bar. Is it something that came with the '97+s? It's not necessary then when doing a conversion, right? Where does it go? What does it look like? Is it heavy? Thanks guys - have a great day.

As far as where i got the prices.
For the stillen lip: i got it from AvalonRacing.net
and the bumper cover: There's a guy that sells them on ebay he always has them for 95's and 96's so i e-mailed him about the 97's and he came back with $130.
Good luck
