Don't flame me I just need your opinion.

I have the most POS maxima you can imagine, a GXE 4th gen, it still runs fast, but there is so many things wrong with it, I have been in an SE maxima with leather, heated seats, all of those goodies, I really loved it, but I want to get a 240sx 1995-1996 one instead of another maxima, I love the maxima so much, that I want another one, but the whole FWD thing is But anyway in less than a month im getting rid of the damn thing, even if I have to junk it I will, can someone tell me something that might want me to get an SE 4th gen, because right now, I'm only looking for a 240sx, I don't really need the 4 doors, but girls like it, I'm 17 and need a have fun type of car, thanks for reading.
I love maximas

If you need more convincing on why to get a SE with leather seats and whatnot, then you're not ready for it.

Its just that the fact I go to car meets, and they mostly drift, and all of them have RWD cars, I feel so left out, thats why I'm thinking of getting a 240sx to drift, but I'm still thinking because maximas are the ****.

Dude just look at some of the 4th gen max's on the org... You don't have to get a SE model to have a nice max... Do yourself a favor and skip on the 240, stay with a maxima

I have been thinking about this the whole summer, the 240 guys tell me, after you drive a 240sx handling wise, you would never want to go back to maximas. It is a bandwagon thing, because I want to practice drifting, been wanting to way before FF tokyo drift. Thanks for your responses guys.

Drifting is a thing of the past. There's a new thing though, it's called Sifting. This is when you stand at your local gas pump and try to get enough spare change so you can fill your tank. LOL!!!

Look man, I have to agree with what was said in the first reply: if you need convincing, you're just not ready. Let alone seriously thinking about the decision. Seems like your mind is already made up.

I have a 98 maxima SE and the only mod that puppy has is a B&M short shifter. More mods will come later as I get the money and time, but even still, I am damn happy with my car. It handles very well, the engine is absolutely superb, and you can't beat the looks for what the car is: a 4 door family sedan. You say you don't need the four doors, but I bet that once you get the car and start using them to just put **** in the back seat, you'll appreciate the extra pair. Not to mention when you got four buddies (or ladies?) you want to cart around comfortably and conveniently.

If you want to get the 240 and be a sheep, go for it. Drifting IS gay, and the amount of money you'll go through with tires is money that can be well spent on mods for the Max. Just look around: there are a ton of Max's on this forum that will spank the **** out of some 240s

Something to think about: the VQ engine was, and continues to be, rated one of the top 10 engines in the world. That speaks volumes about reliability, power, and just damn good engineering.

Good luck with your decision

ok here we go.....get what u really want......if u realy love ur Maxima get another one.....if u realllllllllly want to drift and break **** all the time get a 240....i have had a maxima since i was 19....never had any doubts about wanting another one...but each time i bought a newer one with more goodies and things i wanted....but really buy what u want to buy....if u really want to go drifting u dont want to get a nice car to do it cause u will hit stuff....so my advice find a nice maxima for yourself.....then find a POS 500 240 to drift if u really want to drift

i think 240's are ugly imo...trust me, make a list of what you need to fix, find some used parts oon here and fix it yourself. Not only will your car work after, you'll like it more cause u fixed it yourself. Then, drop it, put some rims and tinted windows and that's a really nice start. When something breaks on my car i'm happy, cause i can replace it with something that has a performance aspect to it. LIke now my 99 needs a whole new exhaust, front to back...you know how much that's gonna cost me?? not including my all the small thngs that **** me off...but yesterday some kid with a moded honda wanted to race and whooped him without even flooring it...girls love the car...and u want leather...leatherseats.com(if i'm not mistaken) $600 to $700 and you have a NEW beautiful interior...so trust me, you're good if u got no rust

PM me a price for your car if its a 5spd. I'll be up there to get it pending the price.

I used to want a 240sx before I found my Max. After i have my Maxima, the 240 looks cheap, interior isnt as luxurious as the max, the guage cluster is ugly, it feels cheap. But thats what that car is, its an economy run around car that RWD. I'll keep my Max and go with a Subbie later or a more modern RWD.

240s with the S15 conversion looks bad@$$. But I rather have the spacious and luxourious Maxima.

If I were to pick up a car for "drifting" then Id get that. Hell it will probably end up being my next toy.

The maxima has a "class" to it that a 240 can't. People see you in a 240, it's just another "kid" car. after my 99 max, I was thinking about getting an Impreza WRX STI, because they're fast. Come to find when I test drove one, I just didn't like it. I didn't like the size, I didn't like the feel. It seemed out of place for me, I like luxury and options, class and feel, and most of all image. People don't respect cars just because they're fast, they respect them also because they are nice. The 240 actually isn't as fast or as nice as the maxima, anyway.

And drifting is dumb. Don't be with drifters.

If you need further convincing, just take a look.

That's my bone stock 99 max that I traded in, and it's what a well-maintained daily driver should be like. Never had any issues. And it's actually still for sale.

As you can see, you are on a Maxima forum. The people here love their Maximas. If you go to a 240sx forum you will probably get the oposite view.

They are two different cars with different good and bad points. It is all about what YOU want to do. Don't take this wrong but grow up and start thinking for yourself. Don't ask others what you should do. Don't sell your car to drift because "that's what they like to do". If you like your car keep it, and fix it. If you like something else, sell it and buy something else. If you sell your car and try drifting but it is not your thing, what then? Try someone elses car, if you like it then go for it. But be prepared to always be fixing what you break, drifting is hard on cars, all racing is. Or maybe save up and buy a 240 and keep your Maxima. Then when you break the 240 you will still have something to drive.

If a smaller car works for you then get it. I do road trips to ski almost every weekend in the winter with 1-3 other people, so I need a room car. BTW, the maxima is amazing in the snow if you get snow tires (I've got Hankook), I run circles around SUVs w/ their all-season tires, and can outbrake them all day long.

HA...

i dont know the whole thought of throwing the rear end of my car aroudn and burning up tire ust never appealed to me....

maybe im just getting old... i rather have a car i can take my niece to the movies to watch "Cars" and feel comfortable knowing i have a huge trunk and a whole lot of room around her child seat, just incase someone "drifts" into me...

Ive got the shocks set up pretty soft and use the OEM BBS wheels which look pretty good mind you. and its smooth and steady and im happy... why mess with it.

Sounds like a lot of custom fabrication, I would love to see the progress pics on that.
