everything is all new!! I used adapters they are the ones that bolt to the hub using you stock lugs and they have their own lugs to bolt the wheel too. There was Zero vibration before bbk install. now hold on to your fillings

I have the z32 caliper installed now. I dont have any 300zx wheels but I do have a set of (1994)Q45 calipers which I think would fit under the wheels with out the adapters. Before I rip everything back off does anyone know for sure what years the q45/j30 caliper will work with the BBK? If they will work and there is no viration I will have a new set of z32 caliper and brake pads for sale because I can't live with the vibration.

Do you have the true BBK or just the Z32 calipers and rotors?
The 300z weels will clear the Z32 setup, but not the true BBk's. The rotors are too large on those setups.

13" cobra's!! z wheels will not fit! But I do think the adapter may be the problem as there is zero vibration once the brakes are applied and since the Z calipers are installed and can't really compare. does anyone know what the clerance differances is between the two (Z/Q).
can you install the larger 1/2"-20 studs in the nissan hubs by just drilling out the original holes and installing new studs.

Yes, but you dont need to drill them out, just tap them out with a hammer.

I know how to get the nissan ones out. but the 1/2"-20 studs are larger than the 12mm-1.25 studs that are there now. so they will not fit without modification. and the larger studs will help align the cobra rotors. I was worried that they would just spin in the hole if I just drilled out the hubs with a larger hole and installed the 1/2"-20 studs.

i woudnt cause studs are splined like axles..but they arent deep splines so u dont have to align them...they are called KNurled....which basically keeps them form spinning in the hub...if u dont drill absolutely perfect ur studs will spin in the hub

yeah that was what I was worried about I though they might bite into the hubs but I didn't want to just go drilling them out.
there is no brand on them. they where what the performace shop carried I guess they made them I don't know. If it's not out of balance then it is the hub rings but I pressed them on??
Btw do I have to have different brake lines with the Q45 calipers??

even the slightest imperfect like i am talkin .001 of an inch can cause it...if u can get a hold of soem H&Rs or Eibachs and try them....mine are just longer studs that slide on and the lugs of the whell hold it all together

they actually stay on nice....my lugs alway stay snug...i am paraniod they will ocme loose...so i carry a torque wrench in my trunk....they have never come loose at all on me....and once u slide them on they fit kind of snug against the rotor and engulf the lil lip of the hub that sticks out pass the rotor

I think I'm going to put the q calipers on. and try it with out spacers or adapters and see if the vibrations stop.... do the q45 calipers use the stock brake lines or do they use the 300zx lines do you know. I need to fix this before I finish the supercharger install.

I don't think I will need spacers for the Q's but I don't know for sure I'm not where I can get to them right now. you don't know the thickness of them do you how much thinner than the z32 are they (1/2"-3/4")???? I need them to be 1/2"-5/8" thinner and they will clear with out spacers

They are significantly thinner due to the lack out of the outter 2 pistons....i think they are only a tad thicker than stock A32 calipers

Thats what I thought I'm going to try them out this weekend. how much stopping power am I losing?? the z32 brakes stop!! if that doesn't stop the vibration then it has to be the centering rings right??

all of the books say they have a different part # and are not interchagable. BTW the Q45 is almost 1" thinner on the outside than the z32.

not yet I'm going to pick up the new pads for the Q45 today so sometime this week or the weekend. they wanted $135+core for rebuilds at autozone (MINE ARE USED NOT REBUILT) I can get the z32 calipers for less than that ($65+ core)
