Picture of Rotor rotation needed

Which way should my cross driled and slotted rotors be pointing? should they follow the flow of the stock maxima saw blades or against it, PICTURE PLZ.

It doesnt matter. The coolilng vents in our rotors are not directional. Its a personal preference. I like mine to follow the saw blade per say. Here is a pic of the passenger side when I did my upgrade.

My Brembo slotted rotors came with instructions that said to have the slots pointing forward (i.e. the opposite of what's in Dubbya's pic). Every other slotted rotor I've seen has had them the other way. I still can't figure out what the difference is, but I'm running mine how they say I should.

EDIT: Above pic beat me to it....

Look at the cooling vents in the rotor. They come straight out they are not curved like the picture above. Not all rotors have directional cooling vents. The only time it matters is when you have directional cooling vents.

if you read the last paragraph in the page I posted up, it says that "all of 'Brembos' slotted and drilled discs are directional, regardless of vane geometry. The discs should be installed such that the end of the slot or hole nearest the outer edge of the rotor contacts the pad first." Please see figure 2. And it doesn't really matter what kind of rotors you have, this is how they should be...

I got different directions with different rotors. SP Performace IIRC. Its not going to make one bit of difference.

maybe, maybe not, but then why would BREMBO send directions with the new rotors at all if it didn't matter???

so you're saying that your directions said to put them on the other way??? could be wrong, but I find that hard to believe...

but like ya'll said, it prolly doesn't matter that much and he got a pic that's what he wanted so it's all good

yeah, lets.

sure, you can mount the fokers on any way you want to, but id rather go off something from someone who actually took the time to specify which way they should go on there and not just "throw em on there however".

the slots/holes run in a certain direction for a reason, however small it may be(whether it be cooling/debris removal/looks/whatever), or the rotors would all be the same, not a left and a right...i.e: if you put both your front rotors up side by side, then the slots/holes are going diff. directions. if it didn't matter, then they(being Brombo/Wilwood/BBK/any other brake company) would not go thru the trouble of making rights/lefts different and have the same part # for both sides...

That second paragraph is misleading to some point. The first section of that document explains what makes a rotor directional. It's not the slots or the x-drills, it's the cooling vanes.

The reason all Brembo rotors are "directional" is because they provide a RIGHT and LEFT rotor so both sides face the same direction and the car looks uniform. And I'm sure for mfg. purposes, if the cooling vanes are directional they purposly make the rotor slots face forward as well. It's simply for mfg. and product quality reasons. It makes their entire rotor product line look the same.

YGWUP4 R&D - You get repeatability in looks and performance on any car.

There is no differance in any rotors performance if x-drillings or slots face forwards or backwards, only internal cooling vanes will dictate rotation direction.

Then why were you debating what I said. I just said the same thing he did. It doesnt matter which side you mount them on. /thread.
