i hear injectors are not common failures. my guess would be coils. when my coils were bad the car would kind of stutter and the rpm's would drop a bit then jump back up. then i got a cylinder misfire code.

I just had a injector fail about two months ago same exact problem as now. I had a coil fail whole different feeling. My rpm's say steady thats why I know its not a coil.

Thanks anyway.

I just pulled this code (threw the ECU into diao) and 06-03 came up but no CEL. I have NGK G-Pwr plugs - gonna swap them out for the Iridium-IX anyways. Car idles pretty bad but acceleration is silky smooth.

FRAC, INJECTORS! What causes an injector to go? Aren't they suppose to last the life of the car?

well changed the injector and now the car won't start?? It just clicks and thats it. I am thinking that it is the starter because it smells like it is burning when I try to crank it becuase it does crank at all.The battery is a optima red top and is fine....... I don't know? Gonna have it towed and let the mechanic figure it out because I'm done with this B.S!!

injectors dont last as long as the car. possibly due to carbon buildup, dirt, bad wiring, or just plain failure. and injectors are quite a common problem but not as common as the coilpacks.

Fuel Injector

I had the same thing happen to my car. I changed out all the plugs and I thought it might have been a blown head gasket, but it turned out to be a bad fuel injector..THANK GOD........... was about $150 to fix it.

update decided to change the starter myself with a remanufactured bosch 10 tooth starter and cross my fingers. I still have a 8 tooth so I should change it anyway.

swap the suspected coil with another cylinder and see if the cylinder you swap with gets the code.

Changed the starter and still no start a different sound, but no start so I had it towed to a friends shop to see if he can figure it out. Hopefully it won't cost to much..

Take the #6 spark plug out and the nearby plug, see if they have different gap, and check the gap with a gapping tool. Probably you will find the ground electrode bent.

I checked the gap and it was perfect but the plug was BLACK. The car is just running ridiculously RICH. I think one of the injectors is just dumping fuel??
