keyless entry remote question...

I recently received a keyless entry remote for my 95 GLE. as far as i know, it worked with the last car, and i replaced the battery just in case. SO, i went to program it, lock the doors, insert key more than 6 times, turn to acc, hit unlock button on remote... heres where it gets kinda weird. the hazards DID flash so i figured itd be allset, i proceeded to unlock the doors and open my door. when i tried testing the remote, nothing happens. i followed the programming instructions and the hazards did flash, so the car did recognize the remote, but nothing happens when i hit the buttons. any idea why? is there a fuse that specifically controls the remote functions on the car? any ideas at all? THANKS!

hmm it may be the remote...from what i understand after the hazards blink it resets your keyless system and then your able to program you rremote. i did that using your method..where did you get that remote? i bought mine off of ebay for about 20-25 bucks.

Well im not positive if its the fuse for the keyless. Because it wouldnt flash if it was dead. Try changing the fuse and then see what happens. My guess is that the remote doesnt actually work. Try bringing the car to your father jus to test some other remotes. If the work then you know its your remote.

The hazards flashed twice correct? They should have flashed when you inserted the key X amount of times, then when you turned the car to ACC (for some reason I thought it was ON but I could be wrong) and pressed the lock button on the remote they should have flashed a second time.

Yeah you should hit the lock button as well....not the unlock button.
