Exhaust leak help....

Ok, my car has an exhaust leak and i think its coming out where the y-pipe connects to the manifolds. I was going to buy another y-pipe b/c i think this one is somewhat bent but i am planning on getting the cattmann headers so i don't want to spend any more money on it. My question is...can i use some high temp gasket maker/sealer to try to seal up the exhaust?? thanks

Well what kind of gaskets do you have on there now? If they're not geniune nissan, I would stop by a dealer and buy some. Then put those on and re-tighten all the bolts... making sure they're nice and tight. That would be the easiest way I can think of, especially since you plan on replacing it anyway. They do sell sealers out there, I've tried out a few, none of them being permanent.

they are the cheap gaskets that came w/ the y-pipe.....they are really thin almost like paper so i'm sure thats where the leak is

Same thing happened to me when I bought my GReddy catback. I bought gaskets from the dealer and put those in. Problem solved.
