I'd like to change the accessory drive belts for my '96 Maxima SE. Since 75,000 miles, I've been monitoring the condition of the belts. I've always changed my oil/filter every 3,000 miles and after this recent oil change at 91,500 miles, I've noticed some slight 'cracks' in the belts. There's no immediate sign of breakage. Do any of you Maxima aficianados have any suggestions? It seems to be a "do it yourselfer". I figure if I change out the starter in my Max., I could definitely do this. Are they any online resources that illustrate this procedure? What are some of your experiences, etc., etc.?

(Yeah, so far so good. Change the oil every 3K, change & replace the coolant every year, changed the spark plugs and performed the 60K maintenance, and my car still pulls strong. Besides the starter, owning and operating this car has been relatively trouble free - 'knock on wood'. My only major irritant is the display working intermittently and a busted CD player in the Bose system. Oh well.....)

this is not tough to do whatsoever... I used this link for reference since I didn't have a shop manual at the time when i pulled my alternator. Hope this helps.
