flickering oil light.

hey, when i got home tonight, once I put my car into park, I noticed my oil light started flickering at me, and eventually stayed somewhat solid. Turning my wheel caused it to go away (no idea why, but it did). Anyone have any idea what might be going on? There are no abnormal noises or leaks. I changed my oil about 2 weeks ago (mobil1 10w30), and the level currently is fine. My oil pressure sending unit was changed in december when I changed the water pump. Possible that it's going bad again so soon? My car has 130k, and i've recently done a full tuneup. Thanks

Yes the oil pressure switch needs to be replaced again. The same thing happened to me. $6 at autozone.

It might be your actual oil pressure, and not the light.

Turning the wheel caused the RPM's to raise slightly, thus raising OP, and in affect, providing adequate rpessure.

Since the piece is so cheap and easy to repair, try it and se if the problem goes away.

Do NOT assume its just a switch. Check your oil level and pressure before driving that car another inch.

Listen to the man, that's a good advice.

Yeah it is. When I bought the car, the previous owner used 10w30 in it, and I actually changed over to mobil1 5w30 on my last OC, and the car was running fine. But i listened to the guy at AutoZone who suggested I use 10w30. No idea why I listened lol, I had actually already reached the register with the 5w30 in hand. The car seems to be running the same, but I do plan to go back to 5w30 on my next change.

Ya know the more thought I put into this I'm going to start running 10w30 in the summer and 5w30 in the winter. But that's completely off topic. Let us know how you make out with changing the opsu, I can't see a vq w/130k having low oil pressure.

I'd also check the connector...maybe it got loose somehow, hence why it started flickering.

A loose connector wouldn't cause the light to flicker on, it'd cause it to flicker off.
