spark plug gapping
spark plug gapping
Do the NGK coppers for the 4th gens come pre-gapped to spec or do we need to gap them before installing? They say like 1.1mm or .40, whatever you like. I checked them with a gap tool and they seemed fairly on-point. But do they need to be gapped? I just installed them after I threw a 0603 for a bad 6th cylinder and just replaced them all but the car still sputters a bit, but it's better than before. Any help much appreciated.
-Also, they seem a bit hard to gap without breaking or damaging them!

I just replaced all 6 plugs. still the same code: cylinder 6 misfire...I checked the resistence on all coilpacks and the all checked out fine...what could be causing this misfire? I got a gapper though, but the plugs factory gap was just a hair off from spec btw. If all the plugs were not gapped right, would I still only get a cylinder 6 misfire code?
if the part number has a -11 after its already pregapped to .44 which is factory spec. Now to help reduce that knock which I think is too late already, try to reduce the gap to maybe .38-.36 or so and see what happens.
Copper, Platinum, Iridium, doesn't matter, Ive always found at least 1 off measurement. Don't use those cheap generic plug gappers, get a set of feeler gauges and do it right.

I used the Strauss .99c one and it worked perfect.
