Hi Perf torque converter versus shift kits:recommendations?

I'd like to upgrade my auto tranny, but do not want to go the VB upgrade route. I want better low-end performance and smoother 1st to 2nd upshifts.

Recommendations, please?

This will not give you any good beneficial upgrades unless you are looking for a good launch. You will get a nice hard N->1st shift too.

What should I search on? Pointless responses?

I did a search, and I did not find any information on such things as (1) if a stock TC goes bad (like mine), should I replace it with an OEM or upgrade it? (2) for those who did a TC upgrade, did they do it just for better track performance or all-around? (3) was it worth the cost (which can run up to $1,000)?

The second post should have been worded differently to reflect the harsh 1-2 shift that always seems to be present. Perhaps the TC is at fault here, or maybe, the clutches or bands in the tranny need replacement. Here again, go OEM, or look for a performance upgrade?

Now, do you have anything positive to contribute??

get a manual transmission, shift the car yourself, it's an amazing feeling! actually controlling the vehicle. incredible.

The title of this thread is 'High Performance Torque converter recomondations', not 'Wanted - Smart A$$ remarks'. If you don't have something to contribute towards the original subject, like where he can find an aftermarket torque converter, STFU!
