What is the weight distibution of a 97 gxe to be exact? How can it be improved besides relocating the battery? i will be adding about a 100 pounds of stereo qeuipment pretty soon.

Other than the battery there isn't much you can do. If you take out power steering, A/C, ABS, etc. you can reduce the front weight which helps to balance the weight ratio.

if you're doing a custom install...

try to put the weight between the axles of the car. With a custom installation you can put some of the weight between the cabin and engine. i.e. subs crossovers..etc...

That's all you can pretty much do unless you want to put lead weights in the engine bay....

BrianV gets a cookie... the weight distribution of an Auto GXE is 63/37. Interestingly, the distribution of a 5-spd SE is 62/38.

I believe Home Depot sells weight distribution kit for the Maxima.

AKA cinder blocks Put some in the trunk, and hit 2 birds with 1 shot. Improve weight distribution, and save on lowering springs

The autotranny probably makes up that 1% in weight dist.. but it makes up more than that in parasitic loss..

Installing your heavy equipment in the trunk will help your weight distribution. Your overall weight will go up(bad). But, your distribution percentages will improve(um...good).
