upgrading to technosquare ECU. question

ok i think it's about that time to do a ecu swap. so is the technosquare really much different than the JET or the JWT? will i notice a pretty decent difference in the "butt-dyno?"

will it improve gas mileage in general under normal driving conditions or does it just help under performance driving conditions?

also, is there any downside to upgrading the ecu? i just wanna make an educated decision about this. thanks for your time guys!

stay far away from jet, I called jwt ad they take forever to get your ecu back if you go with them but another ecu from the junkyard so you can still drive your car, but they are good have alot of options you can add to the ecu. ts no longer makes ecu's for 95-96 you will have to buy it from some-1

technosquare no longer makes ecu's for our cars. At least the 95's. I emailed them about it a week ago and they told me they no longer make them for our cars. JWT is probably your only real option

Is the JWT really worth it? $595.00 to upgrade...What are the typical gains like? Better low end and high end? I know that it extends RPM to 7200 and lays a more agressive fuel map, but is it worth the cash?

I dont think JWT is worth it unless you have an 00vi or MEVI manifold.

wow, thats a shame about the Technosquare, is this true ? i remember back when i had them upgrade my ecu. i got it back within the week. car was at least .15 faster at the drags. if JWT is your only option then go for it, you have other options like the 4th gen classfieds here. I saw one TS ecu just sale for 450.

gas mileage ? who knows i never noticed any change, the needle always moves down when you have a heavy foot, heck i couldnt keep gas in a toyota prius?

there are other options to ecu upgrades but a bit more technical, example Greddy Emanage Ultimate. Looking at an install and a tune. Overall probably better. But not plug and play like an upgraded ecu.

He's hopefully going to buy mine. People only have good things to say about this ECU, and ive tried giving you as much info about it as possible. Feel free to ask any more questions.

You could also get a safc and gain a few ponies out of that by changing the af ratio's. Because I know my max is running PIG rich and could definitely use one.

Yes it is. Even without my 00vi my car sitll has noticable gains. Yes, you will get more benifits from using a VI with the JWT ecu, but the ecu itself is still a good mod on its own.

Nice gains with the TS ECU. You'll definitely feel it.

If I had to do it again though, I would've went with the EU instead.

Well there is a technosquare ECU in the classifieds. But yeah, all the ECU's should give you noticable gains.

What the difference between an Emanage or SAFC and JWT or Technosquare ECU? Is the Emanage just a piggyback on the stock ECU or what?

JWT upgrades your current ECU by reflashing it.. Technosquare is out of the game, but utilized the same process.

eManage, SAFC, VAFC.. are sometimes known as "piggy back" systems and some call them EU. (eManage is run via laptop for logging and adjustment.) The features vary from device to device. Basically it depends on what you're trying to achieve.

Good luck with that EU Apparition. When is it coming in? I think I'm just getting a V-AFC 2 for my 00vi swap.

my EU is sitting at my other house until december when I'll have it installed and tweaked a bit.. should be fun.

OT: Btw, No I didnt buy an I30. But I'm seriously considering converting parts of my car to Cefiro. I've got the badges ready and gonna order the MEVI whenever I get time. The only other think I'm thinking of doing is putting a cefiro 1 piece hood assembly on. I'll just modify one from an I30 though most likely. Other than that I think we have a better looking rear than the Cefiro/I30.
