SS break line banjo bolt broke WTF?

I installed my SS lines yesterday, and put Hawk HP's all the way around. The goodrich kit comes with new banjo bolts and crush washers but the banjo bolts seem a little cheap. While installing the LF line I snapped the bolt attempteing to crush the crush washers on the caliper. I got lucky and could still get my finger on it to turn it out. Anyone else have this problem? I now have this fear that one or more of these bolts may be fractured but I've stood on the break pedal while in park just to put as much pressure on the system as possible with no leaks or problems what so ever. Should I re-install the old banjo bolts re-bleed and be done with it?

Were you using a torque wrench? I'd be willing to get you were not. You can snap any bolt if you apply more torque than the bolt was designed for. I think it was only like 70 ft/lbs on the caliper bolts for the lines, which is not much. You have to remember as well, those bolts are not solid, they are drilled out to allow fluid flow. Get a shop manual and a torque wrench.

Your right it is my fault for not using a TW, although the bolt did break before the crush washers began to crush. when I looked at the washers after the bolt broke, only minimal markings appeared on the washers. Just seems the new bolts supplied with the kit are not the same grade bolt as the OEM ones on the car.
