Something banging near the rear right wheel

Ok folks i have this problem. When i drive the car i hear something banging at the rear(only when i hit the bump). If i wouldn't check it i would've though thats a muffler hitting heatshield very hard. One of my rear struts is leaking but nothing major it's still stiff when i swing that side of the car. Ok heres what i found out the muffler and the whole exaust is not touching anything but when i shake the muffler holding it to the tip i can hear some kind of a crackling inside also there is some rattle inside the muffler when i hit it very hard(it's really old though).
Did anyone have the same problem?
Time for a new exhaust or suspension ?

I had some banging sound under the rear seats every time I hit a bump. It was the pipe hitting a frame. My mechanic put a rubber bracket that holds the pipe there and banging stopped.
Shaking the muffler is not enough to make the pipe hit the frame. You have to put your car on a lift and see what's wrong.

Check your exhaust hangers

My car had some banging to, it is a 98 GXE with the original exhaust. The pipes are fine and not rusted other than a little surface rust, but the 2 hangers between the cat and the muffler have broken off of the pipes. I got some cheap muffler hangers fro autozone, and rigged something up for now, you might want to check all of your hangers.

The antenna motor and wheel jack is back there. Open the cover and make sure both are secure? Maybe the antenna mast is loose?
