On my way back from lunch the rear passenger's side window fell down. Uh, this is new to me, but I know I can take the door apart and get to whatever it is. Is this a common problem and if so, can someone tell me the part I need to get with a link to an online site?

 

i think your motor may be broken. i have opened up a camry's side panel but never a maxima's. just some word of advice though, make sure you unscrew every screw and do not force anything..

 

this has happend to two nissan in my family. One was a 92 maxima and the other one was a 00 sentra. It was the window regulator. Its not hard to change. I know there was a write up in the third gen section on how to do it, and I am guessing the fourth gen is very similar. It took me about an hour and the part cost ~$55

 

I also have a Honda and let me say it is a crappy design when a failed regulator causes the window to come down! I guess I will go with a local place to get the part just in case it is actually something else. I will probably take it apart today and get the part tomorrow. This is really bad timing. Things could be worse though.

Hey, do you guys know if Autozone would carry this part? Should I just get it through a Nissan dealership?

 

its definitaly ur window regulator, i had it happen to both of my back windows on my 95 max. I got on ebay and got both for 35 dollars... so ebay is alot cheaper and the quaility is pretty good....
