Plastic bag stuck to my y-pipe

On my home from work, I started smelling something pretty bad. About 10 minutes later sitting in a parking lot, found out why. A partially melted plastic grocery bag was wrapped around my y-pipe. I managed to pull off the remains of the bag, but there was still some bits stuck to the pipe.

So my question is, will the pipe get hot enough to burn the remains off, or am I going to have to manually remove the stuff? If I have to remove it, is there something I can use so I don't scratch up my SS Budget y-pipe?

Heh, a plastic mold, eh? I wonder if it will go clear, giving me a lustrous finish to the pipe? Pipe dream... Anyways, anyone have any idea how much time it will take to burn off? I ran over a skunk a few weeks back, the thing must have been the area alpha skunk, it was huge! That smell went away after two days, lucky it was raining pretty much the whole time over those two days
