Hey all i got my 96 maxima SE Automatic... with 213,000 miles on it...till runs great!!!! However i notices like ever 4 starts the cars Over Drive light flashes like 16 times quiclky then goes off. I remember on my conotur that happed rightbrefor my tranny went!!! I do have a check engine i have not addressed yet... The Over drive light will not come on while i am drive just flases like every 5 stars 16 tiems then foes away,.. i tihnk the car may need a motor mount but it shifts effortlessly!!! LIke better than any of car (FOrd) I have ever had... anyone got any advice?

The car has teh K&N AirFilter on it and a loud obnoxius exhuast on it... but like i said it runs really well... thanks again

 

i dont know ur problem, but my OD light will blink 16 times exactly wen i disconnect the drop resistor. does it shift very hard around the time when the od light blinks? the check engine light may have come on because of that

 

Count them, see which is the longest flash, then pull codes. Chances are CEL is for trans code(s). If it's a 4th gear code, get ready to replace solenoids or trans (that was the case on my 2nd and 3rd trans). If it's a shift pressure or solenoid code, check solenoids and drop resistor. Check stickies for info about above.
