What strut bar do you have?

Just wanted to get some numbers on what brand strut bars most of all you have. I know there are a lot more out there(brands), but these are just a few.

Get the ebay one for 30 bucks. They are all the same concept, but why would you pay 200 for stillen when you can get OBX i believe which is a replica of the stillen for 30 bucks...

What does it matter what brand other people have? Are you going to find out which is the most popular and get that one just because of that fact? Find one you like and buy it.

As for the people who tell you to just go with an ebay strut bar because they are all the same; that is wrong. Ebay strut bars are adjustable at the ends which is crap. A good strut bar is non-adjustable and completely solid at each end. My suggestion; put strut bars at the very bottom of your list. The only ones worht getting are the more expensive ones and even then they dont make that much of a difference. Its better to put that money into a RSB or some good springs/struts/coilovers. Buy strut bars once you have maxed out everything else and you have some extra cash that you dont know what to do with.

Vlasic, no, I wasnt going to buy what the 'popular vote' was, I just wanted to see. I plan on getting the SPW anyway...cheap and looks sturdy...oh, and thanks for the help.

Never seen an SPW, but here is an example of what Im talking about;

Stay away from bars like these. See at the ends of the bar there are thoes adjustment nuts to make it longer or shorter. You dont want that. You want a bar that bolts directly to the bracket that bolts to the shock tower. All that adjustment crap causes more flex in the bar.

Alutec:

Got it for $85 shipped when Paradox Systems was having a sale (pic is from them).

It made a noticeable difference for me. Cornering and steering response are more consistent and predictable, and the car is less unsettled by bumps and rough pavement. The difference is probably more pronounced for me than it would be for most people because I'm on coilovers and I drive pretty hard, so my chassis sees considerably more stress than the average Maxima's. An easy driver with stock suspension probably wouldn't see as much of a difference.

Stage 1 or Stage 2?

Stage 2 might be a substitute for a FSTB, but I can't imagine that Stage 1 would be. It doesn't brace the same part of the chassis.

I have the stage 1. It was a major improvement in steering response when I put it on. Much more so than the FSTB was when I had one. I still plan to get another FSTB. I lost mine due to the VQ35 swap and clearances. Saving up for the Cattman Titanium one.

On a side note I just had my alignment done at the dealership and the mechanic said "I think there is something wrong with your steering system. Its so much different from other Maximas." Then I asked him to peek under the front end again and he saw the LTB.

Different in what way? Toe/camber curves or something?

Just the way the steering felt. Not the numbers. He did do some "custom" adjustments on my alignment though. I had him install camber bolts and then gave him the ok to play around with it for best handling with best tire life in interest.

The stage 1 already hangs pretty damn low. As far as I know, the stage 2 hangs just as low, but there is more of it.

I have some pics, but Ill PM you...I dont want to get flamed by any Blehmco fanboys again.

I agree with this 1000%, that’s why I went with Cattman. I bought mine used from Ceasar. Thanks Ceasar!
