how can i tell if i have ABS?

is there anywhere i can look to find out if i have ABS? i need to change out my axle.

You have the abs pump in the engine bay.

find a clear road and mash your brakes from about 60 mph, and if your wheels lock up and stay locked up, you don't have ABS.

look and see if the abs light illuminates when your first turn the key to the on position.

I also believe check the stickies. In the section about vin numbers each letter represent something different about the car. I believe one of the letters will represent abs.

also take off one of the front wheels, if you see a 2nd cable going to your spindle then you probably have ABS.

If you've seen your axle or done and axle install and it did not have that gold ribbed ring going around, you dont have abs.

MDeezy....maybe this help a little more. this used to be 96sesleepa's car. i know you know this car pretty well, although im still going to look into it personally.

As said, road test, look for the light or the block underhood, or look for a connector right side of engine bay by timing cover on the shock tower with a harness leading into wheel well.

yea man the drivers side axle finally took a crap on me and im going to get it replaced tomorrow hence the question about the abs. im also going to put on a 5th gen clutch probably within the next couple of weeks or so this one is on its way out.

yea....its ok its givin me the creeps...more problems than the 4th ever gave me...
engine knocking, syncros are bad, and oil burning...
but hey im stuck with it..lol

aint going to touch the i30 for a minute. maybe some rims and a drop but thats about it. plus its an auto sooo.....

plus the wifey drives it and we all know she cant have a better ride then me .

...But what you do have is a pleasant <thump thump thump> as you drive because your tires now have nice flat spots on them.
