Axle shakes when applying gas

I don't know what's up with this car...one problem after another. The axle on the passenger sides shakes when I step on the gas. I replaced the axle and the problem still persists.

Anyone encountered this? I doubt it would be the wheel balance... it's a pretty solid vibration coming from the axle.

Just looking for some ideas.

Axle shake??? How do you know it's shaking, are you looking at it when this happens?

Something tells me that your axle isn't the cause of the problem you have.
Please provide more information on whats going on with the car.

before I replaced the axle...I lift the car up and applied gas. The right side wheel or axle started vibrating violently. So I decided to replace the axle...I have to mention that one of the three bolt holding the right axle in place is stripped but I don't think that is the cause.

This morning...part of the vibration occurs when the engine is on drive but stnding still. So that would not be the axle.

There seems to be multiple problems. I also hear rattles from, what I think is the Y-Pipe I just installed (I installed the ypipe after replacing the axle).

I'll have to investigate more.

Inner CV joint is bad. No 2 ways about it, you got to have it rebuilt, or buy a new shaft to put in.

*EDIT* never mind, didn't see your second post. It's probably internals, now. Sorry to hear about the probelm.

Dont rule out the Bearing mount on the passenger side, I had an axle seal that wouldn stop seeping, turned out to be the bearing mount was a little loose allowing teh axle to move and cause the leak. It would have to be VERY loose to cause the kind of vibration your talking about though.

ok...just came back from lunch. This is what I did.

On neutral: Applied gas..runs perfect.
On Drive with the brake on: Applied gas...clicking and clacking noise.

I guess whatever it is is the root of all the other associated noise.
Motor mount??? I just replaced the whole engine a couple of months back and did not replace the motor mount.

I guess I will check it out more this weekend since it's not the axle issue.

It's also possible that it's the transmission. I had my axle popped out on the driver side and destroyed half of the teeth inside the transmission. I had to dremel each teeth back so that I can put back in the axle. I guess I'll know more this weekend. Thanks for the brainstorming guys. Keep it coming.

ok, it's not the transmission..WHEW!!! thank goodness. It's also not the axle now it's making noise on PARK.

I guess after fixing the axle, I introduced a new problem; THE warpspeed ypipe!!...it's rubbing againsts something when the engine vibrates at a certain rpm.

now, does anyone have any problem with their warpipe? I am using the existing flange to hold the section up. It's much tighter than the original. Or is it because of my motor mount and having the connector at the ypipe and cat be tight being okay?

Just wanted to know what you guys think. I'll remove the rubberband at the flange this weekend or after work.

ok...this problem hasn't resolved yet. So, today, I checked the engine mount for tear... I can't really see any of the mounts except for the rear(firewall) ..the rear had a small crack on it.

I've search the board and noticed that the nut is welded down for the rear mount. Is it true? I already bought the rear mount for 50 bux at kragens (pricematched pepboyz) and wonder how difficult would it be to replace the rear mount. Please let me know.

problem resolved.

When I first inspected the rear mount, there was a very tiny crack, and didn't think it was a problem. Today, I removed the rear mount (firewall side) and was totally surprised,...the whole rubber was destroyed, I can even remove the center part of it.

No more axle shaking or clunking...the only sound is now from the warpspeed ypipe..but it's bearable.

Thanks to NJMAXSELTD for making me think twice and everyone else who help. I am now happy.
