Damaged ECU?!?!
My CEL came on... So I decided to do the Self Diagnosis. I took off the panel, got a flathead screwdriver, and I ACCIDENTLY forced it past stop. Now it just turns and turns and turns and turns. Did I break my ECU? Will I need a new 1?

I had a friend do that about a yr ago. He changed it out because it wouldn't reset. He got one from a junker Max and took it to the dealer for them to install it and reprogram it, I think he paid $500.

I called the Nissan dealer and was told that the total job for programming is about 1.5 hours and should cost anywhere from $110 to $138 dollars. I found out that my friend bought one from them and had it reprogrammed because the junker one had flood damage. In order to buy one from the dealer they'll need your vin.

Illest Max, call the dealer first and get their price. They need your vin in order to better match what components that were added to your car. You can still try the junkyards but my friend bought a junk one, I think he paid $30for it but it was no good because it came from a flooded car.

most ECUs are interchangeable except maybe some 95's and 99's. You can get one from a junk yard for a 100 bucks i think. I installed a technosquare 96 ECU(reprogrammed stock ecu) on my 98 and there were no issues.

Is your car auto or 5-speed?
If you got 5-speed, you can buy my jwt reprogrammed ECU for 600 dollars.
