starting problems???
the other day i went to start my car and it cranked but wont turnover. It smelled like fuel so it definately has fuel, so then i bought new coils and it still does the same thing? could it be plugs? or watelse can it be?

They sometimes have a problem with the front crank sensor wiring getting saturated with oil. Test the wires, disconnect the 6 wire (I think) connector on the right side above the timing chain cover and check continuity of the wires to the crank sensor. Also check the sensor closely. I would also pull the codes and see if any are tripped, I believe the crank sensor would trip one. They are also prone to ignition switch failures. If the crank sensor checks out, check for a signal at the coils to make sure they are firing. Also, try holding the throttle to the floor when you crank it. This puts the ECM in a flood state which fires the injector every other time, to help clear out the flooded fuel. HTH

You need to ground your starter properly. The starter grounds through the transmission and as our cars age, the connection at the bell housing at the two halves of the transmission degrades. Run some wire from one of the starter bolts to a bolt on the other side of the trans and/or straight to the negative battery terminal.

i had to put some wires on it already from when i did the 5 speed swap, i got one from the starter to the neg terminal and one from the front of the tranny to the neg terminal, so i dont think thats the problemm
