Glass Headlights Are On!!!

I installed my glass headlights yesterday and they are awesome!!!! Not only do they look sexy but the beam pattern is better than the OEM with HIDS. The beam is wider and more spread out than OEM even though the glare sheild is open versus closed on the 97-99 there is NO GLARE!!! The light doesn't fill the reflector and create that glare effect like OEM so it basically looks like the car came stock with HID's. Mine came pre aimed a little low for my taste but the amount of light that hits the road is amazing! I'm going to drive with them for a night or two to see if I should aim them up some. What screw is used to aim the lights up the top or bottom one? Also does aiming the light change the position of the housing? For example if I aim the lights lower will my headlights look like they are pointing downwards? If you guys buy these don't use the headlights that come with them cause they are no name brand garbage. I'll post some pics up soon but can you guys tell me which screw I have to adjust to aim the lights higher? Thanks!!!

my aftermarket light adjusting screws were opposite than the stock ones. the inner one towards the grill was the vertical. and yes you are re-positioning them so if you adjust them you can see your lights physcially move. its very sensitive so it wont look like youre headlights are out of place.

I got them from this guy. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-99...QQcmdZViewItem

Don't bother asking him though because he doesn't know. VIPMAX and SMX got their glass headlights from him so I tried him and they are indeed glass. I'll get pics up ASAP. I believe these are the same lights CE sells cause it comes with the cheap headlights bulbs that the CE ones come with. I'll try to get pics of beam pattern also. The beam is totally different. With OEM it just looks like a big clump of light and with these it's a wider more organized clump of light lol! How do I tell which adjusting screw is the vertical and horizontal adjustment?

I was looking at these from ebay as well, but I wasn't sure they were glass. They do look simliar to the ones CE sells. I like em!

The price alone might be worth a try, that's the cheapest I've seen for maxima lights. However these are closer to a 95-96 style headlight is my only gripe.

Do you have a shield made for you HID's? or are you just running the HID's alone with the new housings? This has got my hopes up for getting HID's...

I can't imagine any stock 4th Gen Maxima headlights giving a 'great' beam pattern for HIDs...

ebay lights look good but are one of the worst performing lamps out there.
tyc and depo are junk too

OEM is the only way to go.

buy those, chop them up, install projectors. thats the only way these are worth buying.

I have to disagree with you man, which btw I never do. These headlight's with a 9007 conversion my stock headlights. I do like the projector idea, but it's hard to spend 175 total and then just chop them up and spend another 300 or so on hid piece's. At least wait a few months??

Okay here's the pics! They are aimed too low for my tastes so I aimed them up a bit. These pics though are how they came pre-aimed. Enjoy and let me know what you guys think! Hopefully the pics are okay quality for you guys to study and compare.

Yeah its still scattered like OEM. I aimed them up a little and the light travels farther like the OEM's did but still put more light on the ground. As far as taking pictures at a wall I could try and do it but there aren't too many flat areas like that in my area but I'll try to figure something out. Does anyone have OEM's with HID beam pattern pics? If so post them so we can compare! I'm running 7000k Heilos/Xenon Storm brand HID's from Maximabest.

They actually do look pretty good. They are scattered, but aren't in the air so they won't blind oncoming traffic. I might just buy a bi-xeon set soon for mine. 00vi swap first though.

btw thats a pretty white color for a 7000k system it looks more like 5000k kit.

sorry i should have clarified. The 97-99 lights are better. The 95/96 lights are pretty dull. I didnt know you did the 9007 conversion to these, which should help. But the real issue is the hole in the shield, and the flat reflector. It will never focus the light like the OEM reflector.

Lets see some pics of your setup.

It looks just like the pictured HIDS one just alot duller. I really don't think the hids look bad at all?? Do think the beam pattern looks that bad? I mean I know its not as percise as projectors would be, but they look pretty straight and not glaring up in the air like most do.

Here are some pics against the wall. My OEM's didn't look like this it was basically just two ***** of light hitting the wall. One more question what does the other aiming screw do? The outer ones adjust them vertically so what would the ones near the grill do? Is it worth it to adjust those also? Here are the pics.

the beam pattern is not bad... have you tried shielding the bottom of the HID capsule to get rid of the stray light you see there?

Thanks guys I was having problems also deciding to get them due to aftermarket lights not being up to par with OEM but I tried it anyway and was quiet impressed with these. Glad to hear my pics help you guys that were on the edge of getting them or sketchy about the HID's. I haven't done a shield for the bottom of the hid's the only stray light is just that X they make on the wall. You don't see it unless you go under something like a low bridge. It doesn't bother anyone and again no one can see it unless you are going under something.
