I just had my intake put on the other day and it is great! I can definetely feel the performance gain. Anyway, I started my car the other day and then had to run into my house and get something, when I came back out I heard a vaccuum sound coming from the engine. So I popped the hood and it was coming directly from the filter itself.(not cold air intake by the way) So I was just wondering if this is normal or if I should have it checked. Its pretty loud, I can hear it when the car is in park with the hood closed, and like I said when I pop the hood and listen the sound is coming right from the filter itself. Is the filter just supposed to suck in that much air or something? The sound is just that, air being sucked in(like a vaccuum) Please let me know if this is normal or not. Thanks

I put a Stillen intake on my car just the other week. I can hear the air being sucked into the filter, but not while the hood in closed. When I stomped down on the gas, I can really here it sucking air. What kind of intake did you get? Make sure you have everything sealed around the mass air sensor. Also make sure the filter is tightly secured. Also make sure that your air temperapture sensor is plugged in, along with the MAS plug. As long as all of that is done, and you're sure the sound is coming from the filter, I would venture to say that you're pretty safe. Like I said, mine makes noise, too. I just made a 900 mile trip from GA to PA and didn't have a lick of problems. As a matter of fact, I got 32 miles to the gallon. I was pleasantly surprised by that. Hope this info is reassuring.

The sucking, or vacuum, noise you describe is normal. I was a bit surprised when I heard the noise after initially installing my JWT cone, but well, now the car sounds odd without the sucking noise, which I think gives the car a "wicked" flair.
