Help with Ebrake light flicker and horrible MPG?

Hey guys...just earlier today when coming home from school, I notized that my ebrake light and the battery light were both flickering...it had been doing it pretty much since. It comes in spurts, it wil flicker, then stay on for a few seconds, and then flicker, then turn off...its not really at any RPMs per se, nor do I see it only during acceleration/deaccel...I just want to know whats going on, and if this is an issue...No CEL btw.

Also, and reason I am only getting about 18-20mpg in the city with moderately conservative driving? I have an auto, but rarely do I dun it hard enough to make it shift over 3500rpms...

Thanks all.

Beware ... first check your brake fluid level. Then have your alternator checked. Soon your dashboard may light up like a christmas tree before you know it.

Also, I tested my 0-60, and while I did it with a wrist watch, it was still == 10 seconds...my friend had this problem on his older car, and cylinders 1 and 3 were misfiring. So he took it into the shop, they resealed them, fixed the firing issue, and he said his MPG jumped up and the off the line power jumped up also. I am wondering if I dont have something like this...maybe a sealing problem. Anyone? Thanks all!

Gigantic guess... ebrake light flickering = slightly engaged = mildly braking = worse mpg?

Nope, e brake is all the way down...and note: this is random flickering, not patterned like hazards or anything.

Alright guys. Thanks for your help. I am going to take my car to a friend. His parents own an automotive shop, I'ma go in with em, and just run through everything with them, ask them Q's, etc...then I am going to get my engine 'vacumed' of carbon.

But, does anyone know why my MPG is low and my power is bad? My 0-60 is 10+/- secs, which is horrible for stock, I thought it was supposed to be right under 8 or so...correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for all your help guys!
