I've noticed lately around 2,400 RPM i have to push the accelerator in really far when i push it in it doesnt do anything so of couse i depress it more then suddenly the RMP's shoot up to 4k-6k and i take off. And when i let off the accelerator the car kinda shakes could it be the fuel pump? Anyone have a similar problem?

 

It's downshifting, kickdown may be out of adjustment. Ours is vacuum operated, right? Or is it by TPS%? I know it's not a cable.
