00vi ??'s
00vi ??'s
What is the easiest and cheapest way of doing this? I've read so many threads that I am now confused??? Please somebody just give me the simple detailed answer on what I should get(parts list) and I'll take it from there.
thanks in advance and please don't tell me to search I have every 00vi thread bookmarked, but everyone is different.

I know this
, But I want the lower, mid range and topend of the 00vi that the mevi lacks and am willing to piece a 00vi together. I just need somebody to tell me exactly what to buy for the 00vi install.
you can get a whole dek motor for less then 500$ with about 10k on it :O www.car-parts.com Thats what i did sir.

. Another thing that was cool was access to the consult. Boy i miss those days.oh and besides If I did a engine swap it would be a 3.5!
Well you need an rpm switch. You need adapter plates. you need gaskets, nipples and hoses. You need to decide on which valve cover and which coils your're going to use. You also need to have the 4th LIM drilled so you should buy an extra.

Much more worth it IMO because you get a whole new motor with less miles in most cases.
But then again, this isn't very simple to most orgers.

I'd rather do some more work and feel good I did it, also knowing how my engine is. Plus I dont really see how bolting on a new manifold is more work than pulling and dropping engines and trannys....

It's definitely not simple, and if you're not about 99% confident that you clearly and thoroughly understand the "why" of "what" you're contemplating undertaking, step-by-step, item-by-item, then don't even start. Too many guys wade into this project with inflated egos and a half-**** understanding of the what and why, and then end up with things not working right and trying to find answers on the org to what's wrong. And one of the problems you'll have to solve on your own is figuring out how to separate the factual information posted by guys who have the actual experience and understanding of what they're talking about, from the chatter coming from guys who are just regurgitating things they've swallowed that others with similarly limited knowledge have posted. Good Luck. But Tatanko has done a good job sorting thru that stuff.
Oh, and BTW, most of the information and answers you're looking for will be found in the All Moror section. And in answer to your question about wiring up the RPM switch, I'll send Tatanko some good wiring diagrams for his web site.

First off I know its not simple, but I am very confident and comfortable I can do this and will have help(mechanic friend) with me ,so I don't mess anything up. And when I was referring to simple I meant in comparison to doing a engine swap. I think there is to many people on this board who love to come in a post and disrupt it and I agree totally with you on Tatanko's info and that's what I'm going off of.

I never said it was more work. In fact, it's a lot less work to put on a manifold. All I'm saying is that I believe it is more cost efficient, and that when you get the whold DE-K motor, you can pretty much plug and play. Get the EGR welded shut, don't connect your IACV, and you're running. But like I said, most orgers don't swap motors every day.
