I'm no expert, but from what I understand from reading their website is that, AutoRX is not harmful to seals, it clears away the crap building up around them so it gets "rejuvenated" (thinks thats the term they used). I think it even says somewhere, that it will not shock the seals. I will look when I get home from school if no one else responds!

I'm starting to have second thoughts about auto-rx. I don't know if it's the auto-rx causing my problems or if it's just a coincidence. I used auto-rx in my z28 camaro with 143,000 miles and on the max with 214,000 miles. First the camaro developed a bad oil leak after the rinsing phase which was never there. Now I noticed the engine in my maxima making a ticking/tapping noise but it doesn't sound like valve noise. It still runs great but its now making a noise that it never made before. So coincidence or not I will never put auto-rx in any of my cars again. I'm going back to synthetic.

It does it all the time but it doesn't sound like that at all. Its not a constant ticking or tapping and its not loud at all. Its one of those things where most people wouldn't notice it but I do. Even if I tried to take a video of it the microphone wouldn't pick up on it. It's just something thats starting to scare me and I hope it gets better when I go back to my usual synthetic oil and not worse.

Could be a injector? Those things get pretty loud sometimes??

well I think I may be the first person in history to have rod knock on a VQ30 with 85k miles on it. this car has been impeccably maintained too, I just don't get it. but i did use AutoRx not long ago...

so - just how much does it cost to fix rod bearings?

I tried Auto-Rx on my perfect dealer maintained volvo 850. A friend talked me into it and now car burns oil horribly. something like 1Qt 500miles

so I'm not the only one left unimpressed with AutoRx. I'm not ready to blame it for my apparent rod knock (which did not exist before I used ARX), but I also saw no reductions in CC deposits (which, in all fairness, is not something ARX is known for), but I did notice some rear main seal weepage that wasn't there before ARX. the engine runs awesome though, so i guess i shouldn't protest too loudly.

I don't think it's the injectors. Like I said its not a steady constant sound and it's not really a high pitched ticking. My injectors do make a little noise and the sound i'm hearing sounds nothing like the injectors. I can't really explain the sound. The sound is somewhere in between a ticking and a knock. It's really not that noticable. My girlfriend was in the car with me tonight and she couldn't hear it when I tried to point it out to her. Either way that sound was NOT there before I used auto-rx and neither was the oil leak in my z28 so I will stay away from auto-rx.

I've used AutoRX with absolutely no problems and as a member of BITOG, I can't recall anyone posting a problem with using the product.

I posted on BITOG last night and I was told that engine noises are normal while using auto-rx. They said that once the treatment is done the noises should go away. They had nothing but good things to say about auto-rx so I guess i'll have to take their word for it and hope it gets better like they say it will.

i've heard of others that have developed leaks with aut-rx. I would stay away from it.
