Is there something to be said about the O2 sim?

Is it worth doing the O2 simulator, or is it a pain in the ***. I don't want to waste time buying it and installing if it is worthless. Does it make any difference other than shut off the annoying check engine light for the rear O2 failure? Make the care idle a lil better? I know it really shouldnt make a diff since this particular sensor shouldnt do anything other than relay a signal unless one of the front sensors malfunction...

It does NOT affect performance in any way. I had a test pipe with no CEL for close to 3 years (85k miles) and NO O2 sim.

I would say changing your rear O2 would yeild better results. Try it, since it is only ~30 USD. If not, get a real o2.

I know, technically it shouldn't. How did you achieve adding a test pipe and getting no cel for close to 3 years without a sim??

I have no idea.

I had a small resonator in place of the cat with a bung for the O2 welded into it.

So maybe the small resonator contains some sort of absorbant material that takes out just enough impurity to clear the threshold. I dunno

Nope, I had it on a test pipe as well and no difference.

The o2 sat right in the 'flow' area, so it would not make a difference.

But sometimes they do in this situation. Just from the excess nasties that are un-distinguished from the lack of ceramic

This thread has nothing to do with sim functionality, they do work.
