MAP sensor. where? how? why?
MAP sensor. where? how? why?
MAP sensor is out! anyone got any experience in getting or changing one? Or if you know anything about it, any info would be much appreciated

Definition: Refers to a manifold absolute pressure sensor, a variable resistor used to monitor the difference in pressure between the intake manifold at outside atmosphere.
-This information is used by the engine computer to monitor engine load (vacuum drops when the engine is under load or at wide open throttle). When the engine is under load, the computer may alter spark timing and the fuel mixture to improve performance and emissions.

they are identical. what i meant was you need to find out which one on your car is bad so you can replace it. you have 3 of them, but only one is bad most likely, thus you only need to replace one, but you have to find out WHICH one you need to replace...
Your car starts sounding like a tractor. LITERALLY. Very very bad vibration from the motor. Slows down ur car realy realy bad and eats gas like a maniak. thats what i am going through right now. freekin SUCKS. cant wait to get that shlT fixed. oh...and another thing. Ur "check engine light" starts blinking whenever you accelerate, because there is no pressure.

2. A blinking CEL indicates a multiple cylinder misfire. Either partially clogged injector or faulty ignition coil.
3. Our cars utilize a Mass air flow sensor to determine how much air is entering the intake manifold.

WHAT?! sh't no nono.....fak. i just sent him the money. probly should have read this thread first. Thanks guys. it makes sence. there is only 1 map sensor in the car not 3. and the guy in the shop told me that there is only 2 problem codes: MAP sensor and Knock sensor. i have been driving with a bad knock sensor for 2 years now, so i didnt think that it was THE problem. but now i think that it IS the problem
It happened when i drove the car uphill and as the car could not pull anymore without pressing the gas i parked it without turning off the car but basicly letting it run untill it stopped on its own and shut off. Didnt press out the clutch by accident. and when i started it: this happened.
