MAP sensor. where? how? why?

MAP sensor is out! anyone got any experience in getting or changing one? Or if you know anything about it, any info would be much appreciated

==========================================

Definition: Refers to a manifold absolute pressure sensor, a variable resistor used to monitor the difference in pressure between the intake manifold at outside atmosphere.

-This information is used by the engine computer to monitor engine load (vacuum drops when the engine is under load or at wide open throttle). When the engine is under load, the computer may alter spark timing and the fuel mixture to improve performance and emissions.

I have 2 of them for sale if you decide you need to replace it. They are easy to replace, though our motor has like 3 of them so you need to determine which one is bad.

they are identical. what i meant was you need to find out which one on your car is bad so you can replace it. you have 3 of them, but only one is bad most likely, thus you only need to replace one, but you have to find out WHICH one you need to replace...

Your car starts sounding like a tractor. LITERALLY. Very very bad vibration from the motor. Slows down ur car realy realy bad and eats gas like a maniak. thats what i am going through right now. freekin SUCKS. cant wait to get that shlT fixed. oh...and another thing. Ur "check engine light" starts blinking whenever you accelerate, because there is no pressure.

1. The absolute pressure sensor is not used directly for engine control. Diagnostics only.

2. A blinking CEL indicates a multiple cylinder misfire. Either partially clogged injector or faulty ignition coil.

3. Our cars utilize a Mass air flow sensor to determine how much air is entering the intake manifold.

Or a bad plug, intermittent short in coil or injector harness.

The MAP sensor is not what Neal has listed. Those are solenoid vavles for the emmissions. The MAP sensors is on the intake snorkle and says "boost sensor" on it.

It happened when i drove the car uphill and as the car could not pull anymore without pressing the gas i parked it without turning off the car but basicly letting it run untill it stopped on its own and shut off. Didnt press out the clutch by accident. and when i started it: this happened.
