Antenna question

hey all,

I seem to have bad luck with Antennas. On my Integra, I put Raider Jack, who consequently snapped my antenna off (and i am no longer a raider fan , j/k ). Yesterday, I drove my Maxima through a car wash as I have been doing for ages, and the ******* antenna snapped off (GXE trim, no collapseable antenna).

So - what options do I have? I like how it looks on the car; gives it a classier look... but I don't wanna spend like $50 for a metal rod lol.

Yeahhhh no... lol, the only place I can really see this at is the roof - but that means I have to drill the roof and then run the cable through the headliner... naw. I just need a new mast - I wonder, can I use the mast from a power antenna in the socket for a non-powered antenna? I then can stick it up and down as I wish...

it gets really crappy reception if you just left it down, my radio does that before the antenna is up yet. i'd think i would get kinda annoying to keep put your antenna up and down all the time, plus it would be be pretty easy o snap off again.

Sup - good student you are taking notes

But yes I know car wash on black is a no no - but the previous owner screwed the paint bad enough that at this particular moment - it really doesnt matter lol. Once I get enough cash, I am gonna get the car repainted superblack and then it would be lovingly washed by cotton *****

Why not get one of those little rubber antenna to replace your metal one? Currently I unpowered my powered antenna the recepition has been decent. I guess the one in the back window is enough for me.

i'm having trouble with my antenna too my mast was stuck in the motor and i had to take apart the whole motor and throw away a piece that you can get by buying the whole assembly. I'm not trying to spend 200 dollars on a new assembley. Does anyone know how to hook up those shark fin antennas that the bmws have?
