Security Film for windows

Has anyone ever contimplated putting security film on the windows as an extra deterrent in addition to an alarm. It dosnt seem to be that expensive.

Sounds like a good investment depending on your area, I'd wait to hear a review from someone who has tried it. but it is relatively cheap, I'd say go for it and let me know how it works out

Yeah, that stuff is for the home. You don't want to put it on your car windows. Think if you were in an accident and the door(s) won't open and the car is burning. You're gonna wish those windows didn't have that stuff on them.

I had a similar idea, but then quickly trashed when I realized I would not be able to escape my car by breaking a window.

Why not just apply it to the smaller window in the back since that will be the most likely spot for someone to break into if they wanted to unlock your door?

fellas, that window film is not going to keep anyone out or you in your car. It's designed to keep flying glass from hitting you in the event of an accident or someone hitting your car with some type of object. btw all modern cars have what's called safety glass which does exactly what that film does. That stuff is basically for home use.

There are different types of glass in the car. The windsheild would be almost impossible to break into with simple tools. The side and rear windows are different. They are "safety" glass. They are designed to fragment into small mostly harmless peices instead of big sharp chunks.
