Auto tranny help...

Hey guys,

My tranny has been slipping and acting up for a while now, and I knew im going to have to change it eventually. I think that eventually is right around the corner. Just a few days ago my tranny lost 2nd and 4th gear. All I'm left with is 1st and 3rd... Driving on the highway really sucks. Anyway my plans are to rebuild the auto trans. However, I refuse to rebuild with stock parts, as i'm worried I will just kill it again due to the way I drive. I am wondering what can I have an tranny shop do that will make my trans stronger? I have been looking into aftermarket Valve bodies that make the trans shift nice and quick, but I have not really been able to find a place to get them. I know I am going to continue to drive the car hard once I get it back, so I really want to build the trans a little so that it can handle this. Also I heard something about red devil heavy duty clutches for the auto, anyone know anything on that?
Basically anything you guys can tell me about building an auto trans, or even if there is a place that sells a build auto trans for my max, would be awesome.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Matt

get an auto VLSD instead of rebuilding. There's a deal right now going on for $550 I believe. 5spd swap is too much money IMO.

I dont want to go to 5spd. Its too much money, and I cant do the work myself. I want to stay auto, but i want to build it to handle rougher driving.

Rough driving habbits will tare up just about any tranny build and quite a bit more of the drivetrane.
It's the price you pay for beating on your car.
You can make a street car perform without driving it roughly.
It's all in technique.

umm.. yeah thanks... but i like to drive the way i drive. I will not change my driving technique... its perfectly fine. I just want to build my trans to withstand this a little more then this stock one did, as it only last me 90k miles.
