Start problem

Start problem
I was wondering why my car chunks 3 times before it starts? It got worse and worse. Brought it to autozone to get a new battery, the guy tested mine and said it was fine, so is the alternator. The fuel pump is changed, so are the spark plugs, car runs fine when started at a even 600-700 rpm. So can someone tell me what I need to check? It has started doing this recently with the colder weather, maybe being the cause.

Hi,
actually I fallow crazy97's tutorial, and it runs fine for me for a while. Now, its fall (canada) and its about 5-6 celsius outside. My starting problem came back!! AHH!
Look, I have a vid(same as crasy97), its not me but the car sounds the same (look, about 3 bucks before starting) : http://youtube.com/watch?v=OIpAaHfsuxU.
My tranny(manual) is actually grounded on 4 places : starter screw, big screw near the crack shaft position sensor, and 2 small screws under the tranny.
OH yeah, sometimes its starts IMEDIATLY, faster than a new maxima, it cames about 1 times on 5. Seems the engine dont know where he is...
Thank for your help.

i wanna do this but i dont know what my starter looks like, + i reda on a thred here u dont have to ground under the tranny if u use 4gauge on the starter,
also this has not happened to me all week since i had an aftermarket alarm installed (which came with an engine kill/ engine immobilizer) maybe that emmobilizer is grounded thru the starter and that why its nto doing it ?
i am not sure how aftermarket immobilizers work does anyone know >?

I just didnt have the time to mess with it yet, waiting for the weekend to come. I don't know if I should regrease it and save some dough or buy a new reman starter? Also for a precaution I will ground the starter more! I will post an update on this problem later this week along with some pics!
I would try grounding before you spend money on a starter.

got a good deal on a oem remanufactured 11 pin starter so I bought it! Dealer prce was 260 plus 60 core i think, i got mine for 100 without core charge. Also I added some battery electrical grease to all conncections and sanded the partly oxidized/rusted metal to a bare shine. Solved the problem, starts on a dime without any hesitation.
however even though i solved one problem i saw this black s*** all over the side in a uniform spray type. Checks out my inner CV boot has a hole! I just replaced both of them like Last month
