Wow what a difference....

Finally got around to installing the Catmann Y-pipe and yea I know everywhere on the site it says the y-pipe will offer a good improvment but HOLY CRAP,the thing is a whole new beast. I still have the rest of the exhaust stock so the sound is pretty much the same but WOT it does kinda growl a little more but the pull is much better.Good call guys.

I’m wondering you could install Y-pipe in Atlanta, GA area… I’ve heard most shops do not install Y-pipe for some legal issue… I could be wrong though.
What’s the current Budget Y-pipe price and still order from that Canadian shop?
Any long term emission issue w/ Y-pipe?
thanks

Your best bet is to install it yourself. I installed mine(budget) with handtools in the garage about 2 yrs ago. The hardest part is the bolts that attach the pipe to the converter. The can rust and be a bear to remove.
After 2 yrs I have had no problems with emissions. Just warm your car up first before you have it inspected. The Max is really strong now from 3k to 5.5k.

Even when in accelerating about 1/2 throttle, i can feel it pulling MUCH harder as soon it gets above 3200rpm. I have the budget y pipe BTW.

As other people said, enjoy for now because you will want more very soon. I wanted more like half an hour after installing it!

Hell yea Im ready for something else now...I have a Catmann CAI but just havent had that kinda time to install yet but hopefully during the week I might. If I get the rest of the exhaust will that mainly add sound or power increase too? Im pretty pleased that the sound didnt change hardly, I wouldnt mind a little bit though

The question is, what's the next mod you're going to do after the Y pipe?

00vi....pretty much anything else n/a you get besides 3.5 swap won't give you really noticeble gains. You could find an 00vi setup for around 500 im guessing.

Look at the dyno charts on www.motorvate.ca.

Apart from the endorsement of numerous .org members, how much proof do you need?

Lol..yea its gonna be the CAI,Ive had it for about 3 weeks now but never got around to installing. I would love to get the 00VI but I dont think its anything I would wanna tackle myself. I would have to find someone in my area to install...think it will be cheaper for now to go ahead and install the CAI and finish off the exhaust and call it a winter, then come spring try to do the 00VI.
