Problem with brake lights

Whenever I press the brakes, none of the rear lights come on, the bulbs work because they turn on when i turn on the head lights they just don't come on when the brake is pressed. What can the problem be?

have you tried replacing the bulbs?
1157.
dual filament bulb. 7w low and 23Watt high.
7 watt is for the running lights and the 23 watt is when you press the brake pedal. some joker might have stuck 1156 in there or your brighter filament is burnt out.

also check the fuse for the brakes. under the dash to the left of the steering wheel.

try the fuse, that happened to mine and the fuse (being the most obvious) i didnt even try so try that, it worked for me. P.S. you story fit my story exactly so it will probably work.

thanks for the help. one of the wires connected to one of the bulb sockets came out and it was causing the fuse to blow every time i pressed the brake pedal.
