Ran into some big problems

So I'm just about ready to do my 00vi swap and now my transmission is dying. Guy at the tranny shop said it's not good to drive since the clutch plates are almost down to bare metal. Now I have to figure out the best way to fix this. I'm not spending $2200 to rebuild my tranny. I've found a LSD tranny on car-part.com for $300 and a axle shaft for $50. I'm not sure if it's safe spending that money on the used parts either because I dont know what condition the LSD tranny is really in.
So along with that problem, I pulled 4 codes:
325- KS
440- EVAP
1448- Vent Control Valve Open Diag.
744- TCC signal problem

I'm not sure what the actual problem is with these codes. Not sure how to fix them is what I mean. Anybody got any input on the tranny situation and the codes? Just looking for some help. Thanks guys.

why is that important? The tranny is going out...

I checked codes and I know the 744 is becuase the tranny problem. The EVAP code Idk what exactly could be causing the problem at this point. I'm hoping it'll go away once I do the 00vi swap. KS will be fixed at the same time the swap is done. I can't find the 1448 (0309) code. I didnt see it in the code forum. Someone got that one for me?

Your saying clutch plates are almost down to bare metal. I am taking he talking about the clutch. That a $200 job if you can drop the tranny yourself. Otherwise your looking probably like 600-800

Because an auto tranny still has clutch plates. The whole tranny is shot. Clutch plates are on the way out and my torque converter is shot too. And again...it's not important the symtoms. The tranny is dead and needs to be rebuilt. Unfortunatly I dont have the time to wait on fixing so I have to have it rebuilt instead of buying the LSD. Guess I'll do that some other time.

So did your transmission become "dead" all of a sudden, or was it a more gradual process?

Yes. About a week ago everything started to slip. Now it needs to be rebuilt. It came really fast.

Thanks Apparition haha. Sorry I'm not a manual.

You're rebuilding it? Isn't that like HUGE $$$, though? Wouldn't a swap be cheaper and better in the long run? How impatient are you?

Well the tranny is 375 plus 125 shipping. Axle shaft is 50 plus shipping. That'll be about a week to get. Then doing the work is another 400 or so from a shop. So it's about 1000. My rents will pay half of the rebuild (2000) so thats 1000 for me as well. If I do LSD swap they won't pay any of it. I have too much going on (need a car as soon as possible) and the LSD just doesnt offer a good enough warranty. I would like the LSD but it's just a better deal warranty wise for the rebuild.

Its the damn "evap. canister control valve" I've had that code for what seems like forever, it doesn't have any negative effects though. Well, except an annoying @ss SES light FTL..

So the 440 and the 1448 are basically the same problem (EVAP)?

what makes you think clutch plates are gone?
most of the time transmission rebuilders will give you quote for non metal parts only and some of them will not include clutch plates in their quote. They will add it later when tranny is removed from car.

Anyway if transmisison is slipping,
1) Clean Revlution sensor (Its location is in FSM, Page AT-67 I think)
2) add a bottle of Transtune and idle the car in every gear for 4-5 minutes and then change transmission filter, clean pan and flush oil. Than Add a bottle of Lucas trans fix.

The transmission was taken apart to be looked at...thats how I know the plates were gone. Anyways....this is old and the tranny is already fixed. Time for deletion
