I had a discussion today about eibachs. From what I was told from people with experience, they arent very good for Maximas. I was told the ride sucks, and they sag. Illuminas are supposed to be the best struts for our cars.
I personally was going to go with h and r's and illuminas, but the H and r's are a moderate drop. I rode in someones car with that exact setup and it felt like my stock car.
K sports are good, and adjustable. Although I was going to stay away from coilovers, after seeing so many slammed cars at todays meet I think I might go that route. A lot of people who have spring/strut combos are wanting to go lower and get coilovers. Like you said they are pretty much the same price at this point so i guess its all up to what you want out of your suspension. Hope that helped

If you lower, at the very least get your alignment checked. Sears will do that for free, and charge $64.99 if you decide to go through with the alignment (tech 1 here at Sears in TN). Lowering it will affect your camber, which will change your toe.
i need more input on springs.. i heard nice things about the eibachs..
see here i read to much then i get scared..
i dont want a lot of drop
i want a little bit more of a stiffer ride..and i would like a medium drop...

From my experience, any drop more than 2", you will need camber plate (not camber bolt since it's not working that great) to compensate your alignment issue. Ksport comes with everything.
I had Ksport, but changed to Tein S Tech + Illumina.

i have progress lowering springs on mine, i think adjustable struts are way overrated and should only be used for maximas that have racing aspirations, kyb gr2's are a very stiff strut and are 52 bucks a strut on the holy ebay site. i have progress lowering springs which work great and are fairly cheap as well priced at 150 for the set if you know where to look

Neither spring sags, the rear wheel wells are cut lower then the front. Even at the stock ride height this is noticable, but becomes more noticable as you lower and close the gaps. Measure the car from the rockers to the ground and you'll find both springs provide a fairly even stance. H&R's ride the best, you can adjust the Illuminas and get a very firm ride for handling or soften them up and get a very complient ride with H&R springs. They are a perfect match.

Sorry to jump in this thread a little off topic. I plan on getting illuminas in the spring and was wondering everyone's opinion on the springs that come in Tokico's illumina package. I noticed that you can save a few bucks getting the package, but if they are no good I'll get Eibach or H&R
I have the Illumina springs, I'm not sure of the drop height but it's very noticable compared to stock. The setup so far seems to work very well, the springs are very comfortable and body roll is essentially gone.
This is the same issue I am having. Do we have pictures to compare the height of H&R's compared to Eibach's and stock (or any other spring)? I do not know what spring to go with I HATE the sag in the back I have right now. I do NOT want a 'slammed' look with my stocker rims (Ohio has bad winters/ roads and the max is 'technicly' my daily driver), but do not want to look like I am competing in the next 4x4 jamboree either (the stock 4th gen stance as we all painfully know).
I have searched for this and haven't found any threads to actually compare pics of ride heights. They all (suspension threads) respectively compare ride quality, but that is only 50% of my concern.

Here's some comparison https://maxima.org/modules.php?name=WheelG
The only real, undebatable advantage to Eibachs/Illuminas is that they don't require any maintenance. You can slap them on and totally forget about them for at least a couple of years, depending on where you live. Ksports, like any highly adjustable coilovers, should be checked and cleaned periodically, and don't take well to winter temperatures and can blow out if you drive them on rough roads a lot when it's cold out.
Some say Eibachs/Illuminas ride better because they don't make bumps hit as hard; some say Ksports ride better because they don't let the car bounce or wallow around. Ksports definitely give better handling and sharper response. Ksports also give you adjustable height, so you can set it as you want.

I found this site to be very useful when I was looking to purchase my suspension setup. I ended up going with Illumina struts and springs. I will get them installed soon.

I was also wondering if there are any parts of the suspension that needs to be changed when doing the work or if I can reuse all the other stock components...

Ok I am currently an auto tech student and have already attempted to do my alignment on a Hunter DSP600 (4-wheel alignment rack) with my eibach/illumina setup and let me tell you guys... it sucks. Nissan screwed up in a big way when it comes to making our adjustments on alignment, the only factor we can modify is front toe. That means a stock A32 cannot adjust its rear camber, toe, or front camber, WHICH MEANS... when you take your car to get an alignment at Mavis or Sears (etc) you will be paying $60-80 for practically nothing, and they won't tell you either (demand an alignment summary when you give them your car if you do, and look at all the red out-of-spec numbers afterwards lol) The best way to correct the alignment all-around on our cars is replace our worn bushings and install camber plate kits (or Ksports, since they have pillow-ball upper mounts).
Don't even think twice about it. Eibach/Illumina can't compare to the adjustability and performance of the Ksport CO kit.

if you want comfort, get springs....if you want all out performance, get COs...the CO's aren't actually that bad really...but it also depends on where you live...
