At $115 for "high wattage" halogens, might as well get HIDs. I just bought a 5000k HID kit from from a $165 shipped group deal.

God Damn I love eBay! Obviously these would be a good option to try in these lights...I might buy two to replace the ones I pirated from my Dodge...

I couldn't resist. I just ordered the black ones along with 6000k hids. Hopefully the glare isn't too bad. I'll just make a glare shield if it is.

I don't get it.. How is HID's going to fix the horrible beam pattern that's already there with halogens?

It won't.. I think they're just hoping that the super glare it creates will make it less noticeable just how gay the beam patter really is.

Personally, if I encounter one of them with HID's in those and they're coming head on or blinding me in the rear-view mirror, I'll hit the button for the RPG in the trunk and laugh all the way down to the precinct.

Who said anything about "fixing" the beam pattern with hids? I don't expect them to. If they give out crappy lighting with regular bulbs then hids will help as far as brightness. As I said if there is a bad glare then i'll make a glare shield for them. I wouldn't have them in my car if the glare was bad. I'd get pulled over every night where I live until I fix them.

Is someone working on a retrofit? The only way I'm getting these is if TSX HID projectors fit in them (or some other high end projector). Can someone PLEASE be a guinea pig? Otherwise I will stick with my stockers until I can retrofit those.

I'm having maxgtr2000 do the TSX dual lens retro to my R34s...I'll be dropping off all my parts this week. I think the TSX will be delivered from Florida today...It's taken almost two weeks to get them. I'm just waiting on the bulbs and then the retro will commense.

There's another guy on here who had a spare pair of TSX projectors laying around so he'll be doing a set too.

It shouldn't change the reflection or glare cause he didn't pait the reflector. I guess it might have made the glare a tiny bit less cause less chrome but the reflector still sucks *****.

My new phone apparently can take usable night photos. Here's a couple I took just now.

Beam w/5000k HID. Some stray light above the horizon, but not as bad as some of the other cars I've seen.

random shots:

5000k hid makes the fog lights look yellow

Yes please take pics of the beam pattern on the ground. My 6000k HIDs just came in today and my headlights are supposed to be in on thursday so it would be nice to get a preview of how they will look.

i think they're fine even without the retro. they'll look even nicer with the projectors but that'll cost more and labor time.

Great Job mahn... btw i just ordered mine on eBay... the group deal didn't come thru. I'll post pics when i get mine... (black ones)

More proof that newbs just don't read anything.

I don't know how many times that ebay was said in this thread before you posted....

BTW: ewuzh I think they look much better with the HID bulbs. Not sure a projector project would be needed but of course will look fantastic.

Let me get this straight...a part which is supposedly built for our cars and fits the bodywork, and yet requires modification to install, which gives me a beam pattern as bad or worse than the stock 4th gens'?

I think I'll pass.

Give me real H4's that fit right...I'd pay whatever was asked for that. Why replace garbage with more garbage?

It didn't require any modification to the body or frame. The only thing I had to do was enlarge the plastic mounting holes on the headlight probably because of poor QC. Someone else bought a set of black ones and they fit perfectly without having to enlarge anything. Mine must have been part of the first production batch.
