I recently started experiencing a large knocking sound from the driver-side front tire when driving over small and large bumps. I just had the front struts replaced three months ago. I took the car (95 gle) to a auto shop which wanted $175 to replace the strut mount. Is this a reasonable price? Where can I get a cheap replacement part other than the dealership? Thanks for your help.

My LF mount went around 50K miles. My dealer did mine as well as the strut which was damaged by banging around. Make sure nothing else got hurt when it came loose. Think my whole bill would've been $500+ incl labor.

I happen to have one 4th gen upper strut mount that I'll sell you for $25 shipped. It's brand new.

Email me.

What can happen to other components if this is loose or broken?
