Replacing TPS, quick question

when you replace the TPS, i heard that you have to adjust it with an ohm meter or something. is this true or is it just plug and play?

Needs to be adjusted cold at in the idle postion, and warmed up in the idle and WOT postion. Can be done off the car but when its warm the values will change.
